Elena Vola
Ergotherapeutin
My name is Elena Vola and I am an Ergotherapeutin specialized in pediatrics and hand therapy.
I was born in Piedmont, Italy, and after graduating in Ergotherapie from the University of Pavia, in 2011 I chose to move to Switzerland to deepen my work in the pediatric field.
In Ticino I had the opportunity to take part in a research project that led me to specialize in the treatment of children with ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, learning difficulties, and behavioral challenges. It was an intense and formative experience: working in the field, engaging with scientific studies, and experimenting with different approaches enriched me both professionally and personally.
When that phase came to an end, a new path opened for me: further specialization in hand therapy and upper-limb rehabilitation. For several years I decided to dedicate myself fully to this field and discovered an unexpected passion. During that period, alongside clinical experience, I completed the training required to be admitted to the specialization program and in 2019 I obtained the title of certified hand therapist at the ZHAW in Winterthur.
In 2018 I moved to Chur, where I still live today. There I began working as a hand therapist at Ergotherapie am Kornplatz, and in 2023, alongside that work, I chose to begin my activity as an independent Ergotherapeutin at the Tivoli practice. It was a natural step, driven by the desire to return to working with children in a welcoming and specialized space and to bring together the experience gained through research, clinical work, and continuing education.
Today I work entirely independently and carry forward both of my areas of specialization – upper limb rehabilitation and pediatrics – with passion, balance, and dedication, supporting children, families, and adults through personalized and deeply human therapeutic journeys.
The book "Pallino è un puntino - Ist Pallino ein Punkt?" is a bilingual edition about a little dot in the universe (Pallino) who, driven by boredom, begins to walk along a path that will lead him, without his knowing it yet, to discover himself. Along the way he meets Saturn and Mars, experiencing the joy of a thousand adventures, until he is forced to continue onward because his light seems to bother the planets. Pallino continues sadly and decides to shine less and less: he is almost losing himself completely when, thanks to his encounter with the Sun, he begins to reflect on his true nature, which is revealed in its fullness through the Moon’s mirrors of water. Pallino now knows who he is: a star. He thus begins to recognize others like himself and to give shape to his life.
A simple story born from my constant encounter with my patients: for those who choose every day to look within in order to truly heal, for those who at times feel different precisely because of this, and for those who keep going despite everything and begin to shine in their uniqueness.
