Ergotherapie is a health profession that offers a person-centered intervention for individuals whose physical, cognitive, mental health, or overall well-being limits their ability to carry out the everyday activities – occupations – that give meaning, structure, and identity to their lives.
In Ergotherapie, motor, sensory, emotional, cognitive, social, and cultural aspects are considered intertwined parts of a single story: the story that characterizes each child. Our task is to create the conditions necessary for learning so that resources can emerge, transform, and become useful competences in daily life. Every child is a whole individual, rich in resources and potential.
Ergotherapie in the field of the hand and upper limb is aimed at people who have experienced traumatic injuries – such as fractures, tendon or nerve injuries, dislocations, sprains, or scars – or who present conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, Dupuytren’s disease, osteoarthritis, arthritis, tenosynovitis, and other conditions including chronic pain syndromes (CRPS) that compromise hand and arm function.
The 3E Method® (Ergotherapie, Education, and Re-Education) is my personal therapeutic approach, born from the integration of pediatric Ergotherapie and hand therapy. At its foundation lies a simple and powerful idea: every therapeutic journey is a learning process built through body, mind, and emotions.
