CHILDREN'S HANDS

The importance of children's hands in cognitive and emotional development

CHILDREN'S HANDS

A topic on which there is still much to be done especially at the level of revolution or rather “cultural evolution ”:a passion within a passion not from a surgical point of view but a cognitive-behavioral one.

When I speak of HAND-CERVEL-EMOTION interconnection here I can observe it in its purest and most authentic form, devoid of any rational superstructure typical of the 'adult.

A tiny hand that is given the right to experiment, to touch, to make mistakes, to get dirty is a child that can express its talents by learning and creating neuronal interconnections.

We call it “ messing” when in fact for children it is real work: we tend to block the 'action and in doing so stop what is a guiding instinct of discovery.

Yes but what does this have to do with emotions?

Well depending on the 'outcome of the action performed the child will feel JOY, REDNESS, DISGUST, FEAR or SURPRISE: the primary emotions.

If that little hand will be accompanied by an adult hand that will help it recognize the feelings by allowing them freedom to express themselves outside of any stereotypes, labels or judgments (“don't cry like a sissy” “ if you do as I say you are good otherwise you will be punished,” woe to you if you get angry! “ etc.) connected to it will be a child who day by day develops and manages emotional resources and thus intelligence.

A child connected with himself, because he is legitimized in his authentic being, is a child who feels that his reference figures are having TRUST in his abilities and consequently will transmit it to the WORLD.©️
